The results of the 2017 U.S. Houzz Bathroom Trends Study are out, and we’ve got the highlights, via Chicago Agent Magazine. They surveyed 1,238 U.S. homeowners about their bathroom remodeling projects, and some clear trends show.
The shower is the number one bathroom amenity where folks have splurged. Forty-two percent of those surveyed had focused on shower upgrades. Shower size was another area for improvements, with eighty-one percent of homeowners seeking more space. Twenty-seven percent took out the tub to make it happen!
Bigger Is Better
The room itself got a boost in square footage from at least twenty-five percent of respondents, the majority of those millennials. It is the boomer generation, however, that tops spending for bathroom upgrades. Seniors spend almost double the younger generation with their plans toward aging in place.
Tech Is Everywhere
Including the bathroom. Smart lighting, self-cleaning toilets, built-in speakers, charging ports… you name the tech, people are incorporating it into their bathroom plans.
Stay tuned for more from the survey!
